The Ipswich Cardinals are honoured to announce that on Saturday 22nd December 2007, two former NFL stars will host a Training Camp on the field at Northgate Sports Centre in Ipswich.

Shaun Gayle, former cornerback/safety with the Chicago Bears, and Ian Allen former offensive tackle with the Philadelphia Eagles will be sharing their knowledge on the Ipswich turf.

Cardinal General Manager Ralph Alexander, his coaching staff, and the entire Cardinal organisation are quite excited at the prospect of having two ex-NFL athletes in the vicinity, but not only that, Gayle, Allen, and the Cardinals have extended an open invitation to all the coaches, players, and fans from every team, at every level of the British game. Gayle and Allen between them can advise and coach every position, except quarterback.

Shaun Gayle was an important part of the legendary Bears defense that wreaked havoc throughout the NFL in 1985/86. Gayle, therefore, is the proud and much deserving owner of a Superbowl ring.
Ian Allen was part of the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive line, which allowed Donovan McNabb to lead his team to the NFC Championship in 2004/05. Allen went to the Superbowl with the Eagles who lost, but he wears his Championship ring with honour. These were two supreme NFL players.

They are both more than happy to share their game and life experiences that they have gained playing this sport at the highest level. In short this means that all cornerbacks, safeties, linebackers, defensive linemen, offensive linemen, running backs and wide receivers are welcome to come meet the players, and learn from them.

The day is scheduled to start at 10.30 and should finish at around 4pm. Gayle and Allen will be in kit on the field, and will freely interact with all players who attend the camp. No doubt they will both answer any reasonable questions and sign autographs at the end of the session.

This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for those in the British game to meet and talk face to face with two former NFL football players.
The costs involved for this prestigious event are as follows:

 Players          £ 30.00
 Coaches         £ 20.00
 Spectators      £ 5.00

Anyone who wishes to attend the camp should contact the Cardinals as follows:

Ralph Alexander: 01473 410887 (evenings)
Sandy Francis: 01473 689785 (evenings) 07799 458357

In order to decide the type of equipment we need to bring in, the Cardinals need to have an indication of numbers quite quickly. Do not hesitate to book, as places are limited. Both Gayle and Allen can only comfortably coach a limited number of players with any real success. If numbers are deemed to be a little high, selected coaches may be asked to assist.

All players should wear their team's kit, and coaches should be easy to identify.

It is possible that Sky Sports will cover the camp, although spectators may freely film from the stand or ground level.

Northgate Sports Centre is situated in the North of Ipswich. The postcode is IP4 3DJ.
