Sky Sports pundit, and former NFL lineman Ian Allen has
taken the massive, and unprecedented step of becoming the new owner of the
Ipswich Cardinals.
From the start of 2008, Allen has been in negotiation with the Cardinal
organisation, and all parties are now happy to confirm the appointment of the
former New York Giant, Philadelphia Eagle, and Arizona Cardinal right tackle.

Allen will be in Ipswich during the last week of March
2008, to assess his new team, and to see which areas of the organisation need the
most attention. Ralph Alexander will remain in complete control of the day-to-day operation of
the club, while Allen seeks to promote his new team and increase awareness of
the level of interest in the sport both in the UK and in the USA.
'Along with my off field activity with NFL Network and Sky
Sports, the Ipswich Cardinals are the most important project I am involved in'
Allen said recently. 'My intention is to make Ipswich the best team, the most
successful team, and I will use all my NFL experience and contacts to make sure
this happens over the next few years'.
The coaching staff, led by Sandy Francis, are thrilled
with this news, Allen, Alexander and Francis have built up a solid friendship
over the last four months, and are in constant contact.
Further announcements concerning Ian Allen
are expected shortly.
